Bernard “Curtis” Leach

Bernard “Curtis” Leach of Pearl River, LA, died on Saturday, April 29, 2017. He was 81.

He was born in St. Louis, MO on June 4, 1935 to Bernard and Faye (Gastineau) Leach.

He was a graduate of Ironton High School and of Rolla School of Mines. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers prior to an over 30-year career in Louisiana and Texas as a petroleum engineer and manager with Schlumberger Offshore Well Services. 

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and was a friend to all he met.  In his spare time, he loved fishing, tinkering with repairs, playing with his dogs, and spending time with his family.  He was a member of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Carol (Cunningham) Leach, of Pearl River, LA.; one son, Brian Leach of Charleston, SC.; two daughters, Julie (Robert) Zvanut of Cypress, TX., and Sharon Leach of Thibodaux, LA.; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Nathan, and Eva Leach, and Samantha and Jack Eroche; three sisters, Janis (Gene) Siebers, of Quincy, IL, Carolyn (Gary) Carpenter of Dale, IN, and Pamela (Robert Lourwood) Leach of Ironton; nieces and nephews.  

Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Randal C. Leach, who is survived by his wife, Carol (Earls) Leach.

Funeral services for Curtis were held Saturday, May 6, 2017, at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church in Slidell, LA. Honaker funeral home handled the arrangements.
