Dr. Terry Berryman

Dr. Terry Berryman passed away on Aug. 12, 2017, surrounded by family in Colorado Springs, CO. He was 63.

A memorial service was held in Terry’s honor on Oct. 21, 2017 in Colorado Springs at Unity Church. 

Terry was born on June 13, 1954 in Ironton to Ruth Youngblood and Joseph Berryman.

Terry spent his free time in the outdoors fishing, hiking, and enjoying the peace and quiet. He trained with the judo team at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. He then went on to practice martial arts.

Terry attended high school at White Station High in Memphis TN. Immediately  after graduation, he joined the US Army on June 11, 1972 for a three-year tour of duty.    

Later Terry graduated from Parker Chiropractic College, Dallas, TX. He went on to be a successful chiropractor. He was a healer, a teacher, a Native American pipe carrier, and an extremely intelligent man who had compassion and passion for helping people. 

He met Sandy while working at Union Printers Home in Colorado Springs, CO and they were married in Austin, TX. They had one daughter, Cymbre. 

Dr. Berryman is survived by his mother, Ruth Youngblood; brother, Joe Berryman; sister-in-law, Olivia Berryman; his two nephews, Michael and Brad Berryman; his cousins Judy Mahal and Wayland Harris, Jim and Jerry Berryman; daughter, Cymbre; son-in-law, Mario; seven grandchildren; and his father, Joseph Berryman.  

Terry was the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. E. C. Berryman of Piedmont and the late Reverend Everett and Edith Lewis of Ironton.
