Hartungs celebrate 60th anniversary

Rosemary and Harley Hartung

Rosemary Ann (Steinhoff) Hartung and Harley Henry Hartung celebrated their 60th anniversary on October 5 with a family gathering at their rural Caledonia home.

They were married on October 5, 1957 at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in University City.

Harley, 85, was a brick layer for 32 years at his own business in Fenton.

Rosemary, 85, worked for the federal government as a typist and clerical worker until she had children, then she became a stay-at-home mom.

They have three sons, Kenny from Sullivan, Jim from Bowling Green, and John from Hillsboro.

The couple has four grandchildren, Ben, John Tyler, Sam, and Anne Marie.

The Hartungs said the secret to their successful marriage is a Christ-centered life: “If you remember Jesus every day and apply what you learn from the Bible, you shouldn’t have any problems getting along.”
