Butch Walker

Jerry Walker, known to most as “Butch,” passed away on Feb. 19, 2018 in Pilot Knob. He was 68.

He was born on June 13, 1949 in Ironton, the son of the late Ottis and Maxine (Goggin) Walker.

On March 15, 1975, he was united in marriage to Patricia Jean Allen, who survives.

In addition to his parents Butch was preceded in death by his daughter, Summer Dawn Walker.

Also surviving are his father and mother-in-law, Fred and Imogene Allen of Ellington; brother-in-law, Jeff Allen and his wife, Monica, of Ellington; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.

Butch was a member of the Iron Mountain First Baptist Church. He enjoyed showing his horses at horse shows. He and Patti traveled all over the South Central states showing their horses, achieving many awards including World Championships. He was a member of the Tri County Horse Association, Missouri Western Quarter Horse Association, Illinois Quarter Horse and American Horse Associations.  Butch was a teacher of business education, drivers’ education, and he was the girls’ basketball coach for a total of 30 years in the Ellington and Lesterville School Districts.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018 at 1 p.m. from the Iron Mountain First Baptist Church with Rev. John Canterberry officiating.  Visitation began at 9 a.m. also at the Iron Mountain First Baptist Church.  Pallbearers were Denny Shaffer, Chuck English, Chris Arentsen, Charlie Jackson, Steve Schonhoff, Jim Erpenbach, Rick Moon, and Danny Summers.

Memorials may be made to the Walker Branch Cemetery or the American Cancer Society.  Online condolences may be made to the family at
