Rev. Wiskus new Vicar at St. Paul’s

Rev. Richard Wiskus

The Rev. Richard Wiskus is the new part-time Vicar at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Ironton.

Rev. Wiskus is a Farmington resident who is also a part-time Vicar at All Saints Episcopal Church in Farmington.

He grew up on an Iowa dairy farm near Luxenberg. He attended Loras college and graduated with a degree in history in 1987, then attended graduate school in St. Louis at Aquinas Institute of Theology.

“I taught in Catholic high schools for 17 years,” he said. “I graduated with my masters from Aquinas in  1996 with a degree in  Systematic Theology. I joined the Episcopal Church in 2008.”

Fr. Richard was ordained a priest in early August 2018, however, he brings more than 25 years of non-ordained ministerial experience to St. Paul’s, including campus ministry, teaching theology and philosophy, and leading a not-for-profit organization.

He is a multi-vocation priest.  He is currently a Workshop Program Coordinator at Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center, and an adjunct professor of Philosophy at Mineral Area College.

Fr. Wiskus will be presiding at Eucharist at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on the second and fourth Sundays of each month at 9:30 a.m.
