Wilfred Leonard Adams, known to most as “Bill,” passed away on Oct. 27, 2018 at his residence. He was 72.

He was born on Aug. 13, 1946 in Festus, the son of the late Kenneth and Dorothy (Martin) Adams.

On June 3, 1967, he was united in marriage to Jeanne Ellen Blankenship, who survives. To this union two children were born, Will Adams and wife, Karla of Wesley Chapel, FL and Michelle Adams Menley of Pilot Knob.

Bill is also survived by five grandchildren, Kailey, Kassidy, and Kamryn Adams and Britney and Kensey Menley; three nephews, Mark, Shannon, and Lloyd McClain; his niece, Cindy Yount; and his brother, Bobby; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Barney and his sister, Mary Joyce McClain.

Bill served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He worked as a heavy equipment operator for 50 years with the last 20 being at Construction Engineers in Bloomsdale.   

Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood-working.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018 at 1 p.m. from Bryson Funeral Home with Jim Basler officiating.

Visitation began at 11 a.m.  Internment was in Caledonia Methodist Cemetery.
