Nancy Huff

Mrs. Nancy A. (Harms) Huff of Poplar Bluff died on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018 at Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau surrounded by her loving children.  She was 80.

Mrs. Huff was born on July 4, 1938 in Newark, NJ to Walter H. Harms Sr. and Gladys M. Harms, who both preceded her in death.

In 1958, Mrs. Huff joined the United States Marine Corps.  After boot camp she was stationed at El Toro, CA.  

It was there she would meet a fellow Marine and future husband, Richard E. Huff, Sr.  Mr. and Mrs. Huff were married for 51 years until his death in 2010.  In their retirement years they enjoyed traveling around this country in their motor home. They loved meeting Marines and Marine families of service members who served with Mr. Huff in Vietnam.  

Both had a great love of family and loved spending time with them all over the United States as they traveled.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Huff was preceded in death by her two sisters, Virginia Frazer and Betty Lou Kohlmayer, and her brother, Walter H. Harms, Jr.

Mrs. Huff is survived by her three children, Richard E. Huff, Jr. (Lou) of Shelby, OH, James E. Huff of Poplar Bluff, Cathy Buerk (Steve) of Waterloo, IL; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018 at 4 p.m. from Bryson Funeral Home with Elder Mark Sutton officiating. Visitation began at 2 p.m. Interment was at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 29, 2018 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full military honors.
