Bunker man dies in accident

A Bunker man was fatally injured in a one-car accident Thursday, February 21, in Reynolds County.

Robert F. McDowell, 39, of Bunker was pronounced dead at 11:05 p.m. at the scene of the accident by Reynolds County Coroner Jeff McSpadden, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at 9:15 p.m. on Route KK, 10 miles north of Bunker.

McDowell was driving a 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlas Supreme southbound on Route KK when he attempted to negotiate a curve and travelled off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, then traveled off the left side of the roadway, when he was ejected from the vehicle.

He was not wearing a seat belt, the report stated.
