Boss man seriously injured in accident

An elderly resident of Boss was seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident on Tuesday, April 2.

James W. Pryor, 73, was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox eastbound on MO Highway 32, 20 miles east of Salem in Dent County when the accident occurred at 3:20 p.m.

According to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol, the Equinox ran off the right side of the road, striking an embankment and going airborne before striking a tree and comin to rest off the roadway.

Pryor was transported by medical helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Creve Couer.

It is unknown whether or not Pryor was wearing a seat belt.


Local residents

injured in crash

Two local residents were injured in a crash that occurred Wednesday, April 3 in St. Francois County.

According to a report by the MO Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 2:46 p.m. on MO Route N, north of King School Road.

A 2011 Honda CRV, driven by Vonita A. Pinson, 60, of Belleview, was headed south on the roadway. A 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Alex T. Van Alstine, Jr., 36, of Ironton, was traveling north on the roadway.

Both vehicles were traveling too close to the center line, the report statedk causing the front left of the Honda to strike the front left of the Chevy.

Pinson received moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Parkland Health Center South in Farmington.

Van Alstine received minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Iron County Medical Center in Pilot Knob.

Van Alstine was wearing a seat belt. Pinson was exempt, the report stated.
