Leo Brewer

Leo Leslie Brewer passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis.  He was 76.

Leo was born in Reynolds County on Oct. 17, 1942, the son of the late William Jennings Bryan and Ollie Mae (Wadlow) Brewer.

Leo graduated from Annapolis High School in 1960. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Leo worked as a surveyor with his brother Buell. He retired from the Reynolds County Road and Bridge Department. Leo was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the National Rifle Association (NRA). He enjoyed making knives, leather crafting, mechanical work and hunting.

Leo’s greatest joy was spending time with his Lesterville friends.   

Leo was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Elmer, Buell, Earl and Ralph Brewer; and one great-nephew.

Leo is survived by six nieces and nephews, Chris Brewer, Margaret (Marge) Brewer, Jeri Lynn Murren, Gregory Brewer, David Brewer and Jo Lynn Gutierrez; and seven great-nieces and nephews.

He will be deeply missed by his loving family and many friends who will mourn his passing.

Visitation was held on Thursday, June 20, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at McSpadden Funeral Home in Lesterville.

Funeral services were held on Friday, June 21, at 10 a.m. at McSpadden Funeral Home.

The minister was Pastor Mark Winn.

Burial was in Arcadia Valley Memorial Park                                                    

Arrangements were by McSpadden Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the  Pinkley-Brewer Scholarship Fund providing scholarships to Iron and Reynolds County graduates continuing their education at Baptist universities in Missouri.
