Lotts celebrate 67th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Lott celebrated 67 years of marriage on Tuesday, July 2.

Mary (Green) Lott and Robert William Lott were united in marriage on July 2, 1952 at his parent’s (Grover and Trilby Lott) house in his hometown of Sheridan, WY.

When Bob arrived home from service in the Korean War (he is also a World War II veteran), he got a job as an orderly at the Fort McKenzie Veterans Hospital where Mary Green was employed as a registered nurse.

His Best Man at the wedding was his new wife’s brother, Ned Green.  The Maid of Honor was the bride’s sister, Alta Green. They took a honeymoon to Yellowstone National Park where you “could see the moon and stars through the roof.

Bob went on to obtain a degree in geology and worked for the Atomic Energy Commission in New Mexico.  He later became a quarry supervisor near Bonne Terre.  Mary finished her career as a registered nurse at Washington County Memorial Hospital.

The couple have three children: Robert G. Lott, (deceased), Keith Lott and wife, Juanita, of Bonne Terre, and Sue Pribble and husband, Randy, of Ironton.

The couple resides at Meadowbrook Residential Care.
