Conner Lyn Dane

Conner Lyn Dane passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018 in Farmington.

He is survived by his parents, Justina Asher of Caledonia and Dustin Dane of Park Hills; one brother, Isaiah; his grandparents, Jeff and Jeannette of Caledonia, John and Tonya Kinnard of Park Hills, and Chris and Mona Meinershagen; great-grandparents, Marvin and Sharon Dane, Cleo and Rose Anderson, and John Bonney; several aunts and uncles; Makayla, Kristen, Erica, Brad, Jeffery, and many other family members.

A service honoring baby Conner was held on Thursday, June 28 beginning at 1 p.m. at the Cole Family Funeral Home. Visitation for Conner was held Thursday, June 28 beginning at 11:30 a.m. for friends of the family.

A private family committal service at the graveside followed the services. Rev. Mike Barton officiated the services.

Curtis Ray Kaempfe

Curtis Ray Kaempfe

Curtis Ray Kaempfe,  passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was 67.

He was born on March 29, 1951 in Perryville, the son of Leonard and Betty Jean (Mecker) Kaempfe.

Curtis was married to Sue Goodson on Nov. 26, 1982 at St. Louis and had lived near Des Arc for many years. He was a heavy equipment operator for International Union of Operating Engineers Local # 513 in St. Louis for 30 years and had been attending First Baptist Church in Annapolis.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Leonard and Betty Jean Kaempfe, and two brothers, Larry Allen Kaempfe and William Louis Kaempfe.

Ernest Glenwood Keith

Ernest Glenwood Keith

Ernest Glenwood Keith, known to most as “Jack,” passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at his residence. He was 87.

He was born May 14, 1931 in Redmondville, the son of the late Thurber and Leona (Hartley) Keith and late stepmother, Sylvia Keith.

On Sept. 5, 1955, he was united in marriage to Bertia Faye Lowe, who preceded him in death on Aug. 6, 2017.  To this union four children were born, Valerie Price and Rick Keith, who both preceded him in death. Sheila Davis and husband, Kerry of Belleview,  and Anthony Keith and wife, Deanna of Iron Mountain Lake.

Donald Gene Dinkins

Donald Gene Dinkins of Ironton passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. He was 74.

He was born on March 6, 1944 in Ironton, a son of the late Albert Ray and Mary Louise Slusher Dinkins

On June 20, 1970, Don was united in marriage to his loving wife, Diane Laverne Pehle Dinkins, who survives.

To this union two children were born, Deborah Akins of St. Louis, and Dana (Jack) Windes of St. Clair.

Surviving Don is one brother, Gerald and wife Lynn Dinkins of Annapolis; two sisters, Uyvonne and husband Thomas Huddleston of Farmington, Donna and husband Garry West of Fredericktown; five grandchildren, Caleb, Emmi, Joshua, and Skyler Windes, Makenzie Akins; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Clyde Dinkins; and a sister, Doris Dinkins, who passed away in early childhood.

Wayne Hults

Wayne Hults, a longtime resident of rural Annapolis,  passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was 82.

He was born on Dec. 11, 1935, at St. Louis, to parents Charles F. and Georgia (Seals) Hults.

On April 23, 1966 he married Wanda Pritchitt.

Wayne was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Much of his past times revolved around playing and or teaching his family to play cards. Outdoor activities revolved around fishing. He also enjoyed trips to Las Vegas. Before his wife Wanda passed on June 23, 2016 they celebrated their 50th anniversary together. Prior to his retirement, he worked many years for General Motors as an assembler.

Danielle DeShae Dunbar

Danielle DeShae Dunbar

Danielle DeShae Dunbar passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018,  She was 41.

She was born on July 4, 1976 in Farmington,  a daughter to the late William and Hilda Jacobson Vandergriff.

Danielle is survived by two children, Ali Blevins and Ian Blevins; one sister, Tammy Vandergriff (Mike Miller), and many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Adrienne Blevins; and a brother, Scott Vandergriff.

Danielle was a 1994 graduate of Arcadia Valley High School and worked as a waitress for many years, serving customers more than just their orders. She brought happiness and laughter to whomever was with her and wherever she may be. Her laugh, smile, and personality will be missed by many.

A Life Celebration was held for Danielle on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Cole Family Funeral Home. Visitation was held on Thursday, July 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Deloris June Fitzgerald

Deloris June Fitzgerald 

Deloris June Fitzgerald formerly of Imboden, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 in Chesterfiel.  She was 81.

She was born April 9, 1937 in Imboden, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Edna Mae (Nash) Lambert and Dorothy Lambert.

Deloris is survived by two children, David Fitzgerald and wife Opal of Middlebrook, and Sherry Lewis and husband, Mike of Eureka.  She is also survived by her sister, Mary Ellen Boring and husband Bob of Belleview; two brothers,  Norman “Bud” Lambert and wife Nadine of Imboden, Larry Lambert and wife Debbie, also of Imboden; six grandchildren, Heath Fitzgerald, Katrina Dunham, Daniel Fitzgerald, Cory Lewis, Brandi Fitzgerald, and Austin Lewis; 17 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Deloris was preceded in death by her husbands, Willis Fitzgerald and William Johnson; her son, Omen Wayne Fitzgerald; and her great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Fitzgerald.

Freeda Mae Parker Lashley

Freeda Mae Lashley

Freeda Mae Parker Lashley passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Meadowbrook Residential Care in Pilot Knob.   She was 95.

She was born in Arcadia on July 10, 1922, the youngest child of Alonzo and Laura (Crownover) Parker.

She attended the Red School on Marble Creek.  On Sept. 2, 1939, she married Mont Lashley. He preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 2004.

She worked at the shirt factory in Arcadia and later at Brown Shoe Factory in Ironton.  She was a longtime member of Marble Creek United Baptist Church.  She loved to sing gospel songs both at church and in a gospel quartet with Mont, her brother Gay, and his wife Eula.

She was a gracious hostess and a good cook always willing to serve her extended family of brothers, sisters, nephews, and nieces.  Lemon meringue pie and strawberry-rhubarb cobbler were her specialties.  She enjoyed sewing and crocheting afghans for friends and family.

Nelda Ruth (Carver) Sutton

Nelda Sutton

Nelda Ruth (Carver) Sutton of Sweeny, TX, passed away at her home on Sunday, June 10, 2018. She was 73.

She was born in Bonne Terre. Nelda was a Job’s daughter and a past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 349, Ironton. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and was a hard worker. She was also a member of Marble Creek United Baptist Church and later became a member of the First Baptist Church of Shady Acres in Brazoria, TX.

Nelda enjoyed many hobbies such as cooking, baking, gardening, canning, sewing, reading, and camping.

The family received friends on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia, TX from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Bryson Funeral Home in Pilot Knob with her brother-in-laws, Rev. Larry Sutton and Rev. Mark Sutton officiating.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time on Thursday. Burial will follow at Arcadia Valley Cemetery.

Michael Richard Harris

Michael Richard Harris of Ironton passed away in Festus, on Thursday, June 14, 2018.  He was 68.

He was born on December 14, 1949 in Bonne Terre, a son of the late Clyde “Red” and Geneva Santoyo Harris.

Surviving Michael are two brothers, Patrick Harris and wife Jeanne of Tecumseh, OK, and Tim Harris and wife Lisa of Doe Run; one sister, Kathy Jennings and husband John of Doe Run; a host of nieces nephews, relatives and friends.

Preceding Michael in death are his parents, Clyde and Geneva, and a sister, Colleen Harris.

Michael was a 1968 graduate of Ironton High School. He graduated  technical college after three years where he made a career as an electrical components manufacturer with circuit boards for the lighting in patrol vehicles.

He was a member of at Ste. Marie du Lac Catholic Church in Ironton.

A private Life Celebration for Michael will be held at a later date.
