 She was born on Dec. 31, 1936 in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Lowell and Irene (Thompson) Northcutt.

Carol Ann Branstetter

Carol Ann Branstetter

Carol Ann Branstetter of Ironton passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 in Cape Girardeau. She was 78.

She was born on Sept. 30, 1939 in Florissant, the daughter of the late Leonard and Florence (Ellebracht) Korte.

On April 11, 1959, she was united in marriage to Jim Branstetter who survives.  To this union five children were born, Ron Branstetter and wife, Connie of Olney, IL, Dean Branstetter and wife, Pat of Jackson, Joe Branstetter and wife, Melinda of Ironton, Lori Ann Branstetter, who preceded her in death, and Jamie Branstetter and wife, Vicki of Pilot Knob.

Carol is survived by four brothers, Paul Korte of Joplin, Denny Korte of Sedalia, Clyde Korte of Bowling Green, and Mark Korte of MT; three sisters, Alice Wright of Vandalia, Jane Trower of St. Peters, and Laura Vandelicht of Bowling Green; 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Wanda Lee Russell

Wanda Lee Russell of Ironton passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018. She was 78.

She was born on April 5, 1931, the daughter of the late John Edgar and Eva (King) Young.

On July 23, 1951, Wanda was united in marriage to George E. Russell, who preceded her in death on May 15, 1983.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Persons and Carol Reed.

Wanda is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John Russell and Sue McCanless of Ironton; two sisters, Wilda Blanton of Arcadia and Ruth Schrum of O’Fallon; a granddaughter, Marti McCanless; as well as a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Wanda was a member of Liberty Baptist Church of Arcadia.  She was active in her church and she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Wanda also worked many years for the old St. Mary’s Hospital, the Brown Shoe Company, the Stricklin family and finally the City of Ironton.

Loraine “Maxine” Ridlon

Loraine “Maxine” Ridlon

Loraine “Maxine” Ridlon, formerly of Ironton, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 in Park Hills.  She was 78.

She was born on Sept. 27, 1939 in Banner, the daughter of the late Harold and Essie (Gaston) Crocker.

On April 26, 1957, she was united in marriage to Richard Douglas Ridlon, Sr., who preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 2011.  To this union three children were born, Richard Ridlon Jr. and wife, Simplicia of Park Hills, Gary Ridlon and wife, Charma of Farmington, and Brenda Ridlon of Farmington.

In addition to her children, Maxine is survived by three brothers, Vic Crocker of Graniteville, Millard Crocker of Farmington, and William Crocker of Park Hills; three sisters, Wanda Horne of Fredericktown, Joyce Guffey of Florida and Virginia Spicer of Tennessee; four grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Robert Lee Whited

Robert Lee Whited

Robert Lee Whited of Bismarck passed away at his home on Monday, May 7, 2018. He was 77.

He was born on Thursday, Dec. 19, 1940 in Ironton, a son of the late William “Bill” and Alma Dunbar Whited.

On Sunday, Jan. 8, 1961, he was united in marriage to Nancy Lee (Arnold) Whited, who preceded him in death. To this union two sons were born, Robert “Bobby” and wife Mickey Whited of Arcadia, and Randy Whited of Ironton.

Robert is also survived by one sister, Martha Lorene Whited and husband Gary of Pilot Knob; three grandchildren, Tommy, Seth, and Katie Whited; and a host loving other relatives and friends.

Robert worked and retired from an electrical company which manufactured and fabricated electronic components for companies around the world for many years.

He also served his country with honor in the United States Army.

Geraldine (Geri) Watson

Geri Watson

Geraldine (Geri) Watson, passed away on Saturday, April 21 in Beaver Creek, Ohio. She was 84.

Geri was born in North Andover, Massachusetts on July 25, 1933. She joined the Air Force in 1952, serving for three years as a teletype operator during the Korean War, where she met her husband, Jim Watson. Geri and Jim lived in New York, Canada, Colorado, and St. Louis before moving to Ironton in 1977, then later to Pilot Knob. Jim passed away in 2000.

Geri thoroughly enjoyed her life in the Valley, especially her work, and her co-workers at the Ozark Regional Library, where she worked fulltime as a library clerk until 2014. She particularly enjoyed her involvement in projects with the children’s librarian.

Herbert Elvin Graham

Herbert Elvin Graham of Ironton passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 in Fredericktown. He was 91,

He was born on July 3, 1926 in Chandler, OK, the son of the late Montey and Sarah (McClarry) Graham. On Feb. 3, 1945, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Lee Ousley, who preceded him in death on Oct. 4, 2014.  

Herbert was also preceded in death by two daughters, Gloria Jean Graham and Donna Faye Graham; two brothers, Orville Graham and Harold Graham; and three sisters, Lyda Smith, Leatha Porter and Lela Forthman.

Herbert is survived by one grandson, Ronald Elkins and wife Sarah of Arcadia; six great-grandchildren,  Levi Elkins, Brandee Frisk, William Truitt, Tiffany Truitt, Gregory Truitt, and Jasamine Elkins; seven great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Marilyn Jeanette Powell

Marilyn Jeanette Powell of Bismarck passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018.  She was 78.

Marilyn was born on Aug. 6, 1939 in Ironton, a daughter of the late Clyde and Grace Thurman Miller.

On Jan. 11, 1964, she was united in marriage to Guy Powell, who survives. Also surviving Marilyn are 15 nieces and nephews, Mike and Leslie Miller, Pam Restemayer, Linda Brown, Charles, Dennis, and Phillip Jones, Debbie Buford, Cathy Day, Tania Smith, Gary McEntire, Don McEntire, Gordon McEntire, Harry McEntire, Karen Thomlinson, and a host of other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Clyde Miller; and a sister, Roberta Miller.

Marilyn was a 1958 graduate of Ironton High School, and she worked as a secretary and book keeper for the Chevrolet dealership in Ironton and many other businesses.

Mazie Lou Fogerty

Mazie Lou Fogerty of Wentzville, formerly of Belleview, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at St. Joseph Health Center - Lake Saint Louis.  She was 92.

Mazie was born on July 9, 1925 in Belleview, a daughter of Harry and Florence Thompson.

She was a factory worker.

She was the beloved wife of Palmer Fogerty.

She is survived by her son, Dennis A. (Karen) Fogerty of Winfield; two brothers, Joe Thompson, Hughie Thompson; three grandsons, Thomas (Michelle) Fogerty, Matthew (Margaret) Fogerty, Brian (Mary) Fogerty; and four great-grandchildren, Brendan, Joseph, Keegan, and Louis.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Thompson; mother, Florence Thompson; husband, Palmer J. Fogerty; son, Michael K. Fogerty; brother, Edgar Thompson; sisters, Eileen Pollock, Sybil Thompson, Hazel Jones, brother, Andrew Thompson; daughter-in-law, Deborah Fogerty; grandson, Nathan Fogerty; and many other loving family members.

Colleen Marie Harris

Colleen Marie Harris of DeLon, TX, formerly of Ironton, passed away on April 17, 2018 in Ft. Worth, TX.  She was 53.

She was born on Aug. 20, 1964 in Ironton, a daughter of the late Clyde “Red” and Geneva Santoyo Harris.

Surviving are three brothers, Michael Harris of Ironton, Patrick Harris and wife Jeanne of Tecumseh, OK, and Tim Harris and wife Lisa of Doe Run; one sister, Kathy Jennings and husband John of Doe Run; her companion, Lonnie Kelly; three step-children, Brandtly Kelly and wife Dorothy, Brittany Kelly and friend Michael, and Zachary Kelly all of Texas; one granddaughter, Embrlyn, three nieces, Ashley, Carrie, and Danyelle; one nephew, Dustin; and many cousins and friends.

Colleen was a 1982 graduate of Arcadia Valley High School, and a member of Ste. Marie Du Lac Catholic Church where she served as Church Organist. For several years she worked with Dr. William McKinney in Ironton.
