Dani Dae Wake

Dani Dae Wake of Park Hills passed away May 27, 2016 at Mercy Jefferson Hospital. She was 64.

 She was born April 27, 1952 in Hannibal, the daughter of the late Arthur and Myrtle Belle (Corder) Hughs.

Dani is survived by her two daughters, Melissa and husband Aaron Bernard of Ocean Springs, MS, and Regena Hoffman and fiancé Matthew Rayfield of Desloge.

Roy William “Bill” Helvey of Ironton passed away May 31, 2016 in St. Louis. He was 72.

He was born July 1, 1943 in Bismarck, a son of the late Rual and Hazel Lewis Helvey.

On Oct. 20, 1967, he was united in marriage to Patricia Huitt, who survives.

Finis M. Hardy of Ironton, passed away May 23, 2016 in Festus. He was 91.

He was born April 18, 1925 in Ripley, TN the son of the late John and Allie (Wilson) Hardy.

On Oct. 9, 1954, he was united in marriage to Frances D. Ray who preceded him in death on May 31, 2009.  To this union two children were born, Michael Hardy and wife Carol of Ironton, and Karen and husband Pete Thompson of Belleville, IL.

Myrtle Louise Williams, known to most as “Lucy” passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 in Fredericktown. She was 74.

She was born Jan. 1, 1942 in Hogan, the daughter of the late Richard and Elva (Persons) Casteel. 

On Dec. 22, 1958, she was united in marriage to Robert Lee Inman ,who preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1982.

Jim West

James Edwin West, known to most as Jim, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016 in Middlebrook.  He was 85.

Jim was born on April 26, 1931 in Annapolis, the son of the late Cleophas “Cle” and Clara (Lewis) West. 

On Nov. 19, 1950, he was united in marriage to Betty Brooks. To this union two children were born, James Jr. and wife Kim West of Benbrook, TX  and Michael West of Viburnum.

Elizabeth Marie (Thompson) Harr

Elizabeth Marie (Thompson) Harr passed away in her home on May 8, 2016. She was 73.

She was born on June 7, 1942 in Potosi, the daughter of the late James Thompson and Annie (Montgomery) Henson.

On June 2, 1972, she was united in marriage to Edward Harr Sr., who preceded her in death on June 12, 2001.  Elizabeth had one infant son, Robert Nelson, who preceded her in death, and is survived by three children, Edward Harr Jr. and wife Sherry of Bismarck, Evelyn Ames and husband Patrick of Middlebrook, Raymond Harr and wife Cora of Ironton; five step-children, Carolyn Willhelm of Metropolis, IL, Kathy Cain of Potosi, Pamela Downen of Potosi, Ruby Daring of Denver CO, and Debbie Snyder, who preceded her in death.

Robert William “Bob” Turner

Robert William “Bob” Turner

Robert William “Bob” Turner, a resident of West Chicago, IL, was born on Aug. 9, 1928, in De Soto, and passed away peacefully at his home in West Chicago, IL, on April 28, 2016.  He was 87.

Bob spent his early childhood roaming the hills in the Arcadia Valley, swimming in its creeks and camping in the foothills of the Ozarks. His first of many faithful dogs, Pal, would run to the school and wait outside Bob’s classroom, occasionally taking a drink from the water fountain. They both graduated from Ironton High School in 1946, after Bob achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.

 He was born Sept. 14, 1952, in St. Louis, a son of the late Homer and Jessie Toppins King.

Eugene Alexander Snider

Eugene Alexander Snider passed away on April 25, 2016 in Farmington. He was 88.
He was born on May 2, 1927 in Vincennes, IN, a son to the late Rev. Thomas and Daisy (Shipley) Snider.
On Aug. 25, 1950, Eugene was united in marriage to Helen Jarrell-Schwerin who survives.  To this union, six children were born, Thomas Snider and wife Suvanna of Thailand, Brenda Williams and friend Mike Grajek of Middlebrook, Richard Snider and wife Renee of Ironton, Karl Snider and wife Sherri of Arcadia, Chrissy Nichols and husband Brent of Ironton and Laura Snider of Jefferson City.  
He is also survived by brothers, David and Daniel Snider; sisters, Viola Hall, Sue Weir and Ruth Dale; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren with another on the way, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
