Betty Jane (Cox) Young

Betty Jane (Cox) Young

Betty Jane (Cox) Young passed away on April 29, 2016 in Annapolis. She was 87
She was born on May 27, 1928 in Parma, a daughter to the late Raymond and Deliah (Malone) Cox.
On Sept. 1, 1946, she was united in marriage to Samuel Lee Young who survives.  To this union four children were born, Betsy Case and husband Carroll of Campbell, Bryan Young (who preceded her in death) and wife Linda Young, Faron Young and wife Tina of Des Arc, and Gwen Pratt and husband Steve of Annapolis.  
Betty is survived by brothers, Howard and Raymond Cox Jr.; sisters,  Shirley Westemand, Linda King and Barbara Miller; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her son, Bryan Young in February, 2016; a brother, Charles Cox; a sister, Marie Jewell Cox; and a great-grandson, William Samuel Pratt.

Donald Ray Duncan

Donald Ray Duncan

Donald Ray Duncan of Ironton passed away April 22, 2016 at his residence. He was 81.
He was born May 17, 1934 in Arcadia, the son of the late Clarence and Alice (Sutton) Duncan.
On May 18, 1952, he was united in marriage to Helen LaVerne Starks, who survives.  
Also surviving is his son, Donald Duncan Jr. and wife Teri of Farmington; nine grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren.  
Don was preceded in death by his son, Dwayne Duncan in 1987.  He was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Tiefenauer, and six brothers; Ben Duncan, Eugene Duncan, Clarence “Dude” Duncan, Jimmy Duncan, Dale Duncan, and Emmett Duncan.
Don was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pilot Knob most recently.  He previously was a member of Pinecrest Nazarene Church.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. from Bryson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dwight Presson and Rev. Scott Edgar officiating.

Freddie Ray Sutton

Freddie Ray Sutton

Freddie Ray Sutton of Sweeny, TX passed away in his home on April 18, 2016.  He was 71.
He was born in Arcadia, on April 18, 1945. He served in the United States Army Reserves for eight years. He was a 32nd degree mason and a past worthy patron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 349 in Ironton.
He was a loving husband, father and was a hard worker; a member and deacon of Marble Creek United Baptist Church for many years and later became a member of the First Baptist Church of Shady Acres in Brazoria.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, but most of all he loved being a servant for the Lord.

Charles Daniel Rennie

Charles Daniel Rennie

Charles Daniel Rennie of Ironton passed away April 23, 2016 in Desloge.  He was 80.  
He was born Oct. 27, 1935 at Iron Mountain, the son of the late Charles Watt and Lucy Viola (Anderson) Rennie.
On June 25, 1955 he was united in marriage to Carol Jean Borowski, who survives.  They were reunited in marriage in 2014.  
To this union three children were born, Timothy Rennie of Aurora, CO, Michael Rennie of Middlebrook, and Beth Ann Chismark of Poland, OH.
In addition to his children, Dan is survived by his grandchildren, Derek, Shannon, Jimmy, Cody, Kayla, Precious, Angela, Daniel, Steve, and great grandchildren James, Joey, Steven, John, James, Dylan, Layla, and Pax, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In 2012, Dan was preceded in death by his wife of 23 years, Dianne Bien. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Rennie and two brothers, Kenneth Rennie and Donald Rennie.

Patricia Ann Poinsett

Patricia Ann Poinsett

Patricia Ann Poinsett of Farmington,  formerly of the Arcadia Valley, passed away April 22, 2016 at her home.  She was 69.
She was born Sept. 10, 1946 in Ironton, a daughter of the late Irvin G. and Thelma Swaringim Bennett.
On March 20, 1965, she was united in marriage to Charles W. Poinsett, who survives.
To this union was born a daughter, Dana Poinsett Ward and husband Rick of Arcadia.  
Also surviving are two granddaughters, Amber Whitmore and Carly Harbison; three great-grandchildren, Keagan, Kayden, and Kenzie Whitmore; three sisters-in-law, Jo Anne Francis, Agnes Lashley, and Bonnie Hayes; and lifelong friends, Cheri Layton, Shirley Liggett; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her stepfather, Junior Bud Griffin, and a brother Darrell Irvin Bennett.
Patricia was a 1964 graduate of Ironton High School.

Randall Gordon Hatridge

Randall Gordon Hatridge of Belleview passed away April 14, 2016 at his residence. He was 63.
He was born June 10, 1952 in Ironton, the son of the late Harold and Nelda (Jones) Hatridge.
Randall is survived by five children,  Kenneth Hatridge and wife Jennifer of Brunswick, ME, Melissa Hillis and husband, Jesse of Park Hills, Joshua Hatridge and wife Amanda of Morgan City, LA, Rebekah Hatridge and Tim of Viburnum and Samuel Hatridge of Gainesville.
Randall is also survived by a brother, Keith Hatridge of Potosi; two sisters; Rita McEntire of Bonne Terre and Barbara Webb and husband Bob of Farmington; 16 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Randall was preceded in death by a son, David Hatridge and a brother, Kirk Hatridge.

Roy Alan Cain

Roy Alan Cain of Bismarck passed away April 14, 2016 in Festus. He was 39.
 He was born Sept. 2, 1976 in Potosi, a son of Adrian Roger and Glenda Joyce King Verschueren.
Surviving are three children, Mackenzie Alexis, Austin Bradley, and Adrianna Nichole Cain; his mother, Glenda Joyce Lee and stepfather Marvin Lee of Bismarck; one brother, William Robert Simmons of Bismarck; one sister, Harvetta Marie Simmons Sutton of Fredericktown; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Verschieren, and a brother, Donald Lane Cain.
Roy attended Bismarck High School.
Funeral services were held at noon Saturday, April 16, from Cole Family Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Skaggs officiating.  
Visitation was at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Interment was in Brewington Cemetery near Des Arc.  
Memorials may be made to his family.

Donald Gary Thompson

Donald Gary Thompson of Belleview passed away April 8, 2016 in Des Peres.  He was 64.
He was born Sept. 16, 1951 the son of the late Wilburn A. Thompson and Reba L. (Jaycox) Winters.
On Sept. 19, 1970 he was united in marriage to Cathy Ann DePriest, who survives.  
To this union three children were born, Christopher Thompson of Gillette, WY, Paula Thompson of Graniteville and Pamela Hand, who preceded him in death.  
Donnie is also survived by a brother, Peter S. Thompson of Belleville, IL; a sister, Sandra C. Thompson of Pilot Knob; seven grandchildren, Amber, Breezy, Anthony, Freeman, Joshua, Shea, Caleb; two great-grandchildren,  Melia and Jordan; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.  
In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by his daughter, Pam Hand; a brother, Douglas A. Thompson; and a sister, Janet R. Thompson.

George Walter Stevens

George Walter Stevens

 George Walter Stevens of Fredericktown passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Stockhoff Nursing center in Fredericktown.  He was 82.
He was born on Oct. 6, 1933 in Annapolis, a son of  George Wesley and Delsie Mae (Palmer) Stevens.
On Sept. 1, 1979 in Marquand, he was united in marriage to Esther Joan Starkey. She survives in Fredericktown.
Other survivors include one daughter, Karen Burton and husband Bill of St. Peters; three sons, Randall Stevens and wife Pat of Annapolis, Gary Wagganer of Fredericktown and Kevin Wagganer and wife Dawn of Buckhorn; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Stevens of Annapolis; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gerald Stevens; a sister, Imogene Sullivan; a brother, Wesley Stevens; and a grandson, Joseph Burton.

Kenneth Calvin ‘Pud’ Brockes

Kenneth Calvin ‘Pud’ Brockes

Kenneth Calvin “Pud” Brockes of Ironton passed away on Monday, April 4. He was 65.
He was born on Dec. 31, 1950 to Cecil and Ona Bain Brockes, who survive.
Kenny is survived by three children, Heather Bell, Jon Brockes and wife Jakki, Jeremy Brockes and companion Shawna; a brother, David Brockes and wife Sandy; three sisters, Donna Bennett and husband Terry, Pattie Jones and husband Rickey, and Mona Brockes; six grandchildren, and many other loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Brockes.
Kenny was a graduate of Arcadia Valley High School, a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Ironton, and served his country with honor during the Vietnam War in the United States Army.
Kenny was an auto body mechanic for many years before his retirement five years ago.
