Anita Renee Berry

Anita Renee Berry, known to most as Rae, passed away Nov. 29, 2015 in Desloge. She was 43.
She was born Sept. 17, 1972 in Crystal City, the daughter of the late Robert and Connie (Asberry) Ahrens.
On Aug. 3, 1992 she was united in marriage to Edward Berry, who survives.  
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children, Alexander Berry and wife, Merinna of Bonne Terre, Joshua Ahrens and wife Jessica of Park Hills, Khrystyna Berry of Ironton, Alicia Berry of Desloge, and Megan DeHavan and husband, Bryan of Farmington.  
She is also survived by a sister, Debra Schmidt; three brothers, Manuel Martin, Van Pender and Scott Pender; four grandchildren, Koltin Berry, Landin Berry, Nadalie Berry and Judith Carter; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial services were held on Dec. 2, 2015 from Bryson Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Derrick Meek officiating.

James Waide Goggin

James Waide Goggin

James Waide Goggin of Ironton passed away Friday, Nov. 27, 2015 in Festus. He was 51.

He was born June 8, 1964 in Ironton, a son of James and Virginia Waide Goggin.

On May 20, 1995, he was united in marriage to Deborah Hensel, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Joseph Goggin and wife Denise of Arcadia, Michael Goggin and fiance’ Samantha Dunbar of Ironton, and Ruby Jones and husband Kenny of Arcadia; his parents, Jim and Virginia Goggin of Arcadia; five grandchildren, Amelia, Melissa, Levi, Xander, and Madilyn; and many other relatives and friends whose lives  Waide lovingly touched during his time with us.

Waide was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Wilma Goggin, Elbert and Freda Waide; and father and mother-in-law,  George and Ruby Hensel.

Bettie Jane Henson

Bettie Jane Henson

Bettie Jane Henson of French Village, formerly of Herculaneum, passed away  Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015 in Park Hills. He was 85.

She was born March 3, 1930 in St. Louis, a daughter of the late Wayne and Lula Whitaker Edwards.

In 1949, she was united in marriage to Melvin, “Jack” Henson, who preceded her in death Jan. 1991.

To this union were born three children, Melvin Henson and wife Donna, Marty Henson, and Susan Breland, all of French Village.

Also surviving are a sister, Janet Almond of Salem, and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Mack Edwards and Gene Edwards; two sisters, Gerrie Shaw and Jo Ann Biggs; and a son-in-law Don Breland.

Bettie was a 1948 graduate of Annapolis High School, and a member of the Herculaneum Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 30 from Cole Family Funeral Home in Ironton with Rev. Pete Ruble officiating.

Julia Anna Guess

Julia Anna Guess, known to most as “Cricket” passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2015 in St. Louis. She was 53

She was born Dec. 13, 1961 in Ironton, the daughter of Sherman and Retha Maude (Jones) Reed.

Cricket is survived by her father, Sherman Reed of Ironton; three children, Jeremy Pinkley of Fredericktown, Lynette Pinkley and husband Chris Hubbs of Fredericktown, and Dusty Pinkley and wife Cass of Noblesville, IN; and four step-daughters, Jessie McGowen, Shelia Guess, Theresa Lee, and Kimmy Guess.  

She is also survived by three brothers, Tony Reed and wife Diana of Ironton, Michael Reed and wife Connie of Ironton, and Ricky Reed of Arcadia; two sisters, Machele Tyndall and husband Mike of Middlebrook and Janie Laird and husband Gerald of Belleview; and 11 grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Estella Marie Usher

Estella Marie Usher, known to most as Stella, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015 at her residence in Farmington. She was 76.

She was born Nov. 17, 1939 in Louisiana, MO, the daughter of the late Lester and Sarah (England) Martin.

Stella is survived by her seven children, Patricia Taylor of Fredericktown, Cynthia Glowczewski of Ironton, Lester Christie and wife Jamie of Farmington, Roy Christie Sr. of Fredericktown, Tom Christie and wife Tonya of Ironton, Myrtle Usher and husband Buddy of Farmington, and Pamela Gusman and husband Lee of Farmington. 

In addition to her children, she is survived by two sisters, Etta Faye Reno of Wellsville, and Virginia Bell of Farmington; 25 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Alan Wesley “AJ” Littrell Jr.

Alan Wesley “AJ” Littrell Jr. was born January 21, 1991 in Farmington to Alan and Naomi (Warren) Littrell.

He departed this life on July 9, 2015. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorial services will be at the Signer Senior Center in Arcadia at noon on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015.

Interment will be in the Huff Cemetery.

Alonzo “Lon” Edgar Whited

Alonzo “Lon” Edgar Whited of Ironton passed away in Farmington on November 15, 2015.  He was 91.
Lon was born July 27, 1924 in Ironton to the late Harve and Zanoba Raines Whited.
In 1944, Lon was united in marriage to Mildred Maxine Mercer, who preceded him in death in 1983, and to this union, seven children were born.
On January 31, 1986 Lon was united in marriage to Ona Jewel Bain, who survives.
Lon was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mildred; an infant son, Lon Richard Whited; a son, Roy Denver Whited; his brothers, Delbert, Everette, Howard “Sonny,”; his sisters, Eula Marler and Francis Dunbar; and a step-daughter, Jeanett Brockes.

John James Gutches

John James Gutches of Lesterville passed away on Nov. 18, 2015.  He was 49.
John was born on Oct. 18, 1966 in Sun Valley, Idaho, the son of the late Lois Rine Gutches and Verl Gutches.
He was united in marriage to Robin Vert on July 24, 1998 in Farmington.
John attended Black River Baptist Church. He was a member of the Northern Reynolds County Fire Protection District, a first responder, and a former board member of the Reynolds County Ambulance District.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, frog-gigging, four wheeling, swimming, and raising Doberman Pinschers. John’s greatest love was spending time with his family and friends, especially his wife, children and grandbaby.

Barbara Louise Browers

Barbara Louise Browers of Arcadia passed away Nov. 18, 2015 in Cape Girardeau.  She was 70.
She was born Nov. 4, 1945 in Glover, a daughter of the late Ira and Georgia Bone Wadlow.
In June 1963, she was united in marriage to James E. Browers Sr., who preceded her in death in February 2000.
To this union was born three children, Mrs. Paula Head and husband Randall of Arcadia, Preston Browers and wife Connie of Arcadia, and a son James E. Browers, Jr. who preceded her in death.
Other survivors include her very special friend,  Lemrow “Sonny” Hartwick; two brothers, Ronnie Wadlow of Ironton and Tim Wadlow of Farmington; six sisters, Vicki Harper of Bonne Terre, Connie Jean Barton of Arcadia, Joan Blevins of Ironton, Terri Myers of Ironton, Kay Mauzy of Arcadia and Ruby Nash of Ironton; 12 grandchildren, many great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, neph-ews, other relatives and friends.

Joyce Mae Rosale (Harbison) Browers of Arcadia passed away on Nov. 12, 2015 at the age of 74 years.  
She was born on Sept. 9, 1941 in Goodland, the daughter of the late Elvie Eugene and Minnie Mae (Litton) Harbison.  
Joyce is survived by her children, Angela and husband Ron Marler of Ironton, Ronald Helms of Ironton, Sherri and husband Scott Holscher of Arcadia, Hank II and wife Adele Browers of Arcadia, and Robin McCoy of Pilot Knob; brothers, Lloyd Harbison, Carl Harbison, Gale Harbison, Chris Harbison and Tony Harbison; sisters, Vicki Chamberlain, Linda Gamble and Tammy Crawford; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  
In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Harbison and Eugene Harbison; and two sisters, Pearline Harbison and Brenda Helms.
