Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. from Bryson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation was held on Wednesday evening from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Bryson Funeral Home. Robert (Bob) Eugene Richards

May 23, 1928 - January 1, 2019

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Don Akers officiating. Visitation began at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Interment with full military honors was in Caledonia Methodist Cemetery following the funeral service. Memorials may be made to the Farmington VA Clinic. Beatrice Brandel

Beatrice Brandel of Ironton passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018.  She was 85.

Beatrice was born on March 24, 1933 in Biehle. She was the daughter of Emil and Alice Dosenbach of Perryville.

On March 26, 1949, Beatrice was united in marriage to Roy Lee Brandel.

Surviving children include two sons, Larry (Sharon) of Oak Ridge and Terry (Debbra) of Ironton; and three daughters, Linda (Ray) Miget, Sharon (William) Dement, and Sandra Keeney.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Craig; and one infant grandson, Paul Miget.

Beatrice has 17 grandchildren, one step-grandchild, 35 great- grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

The many interests of Beatrice included making quilts, feeding and watching the birds, working in the yard and growing flowers and spending time with her family and friends.

Dr. Richard Carl Holmes

Richard Holmes

Dr. Richard Carl Holmes of Ironton passed away on Monday, Dec. 24, 2018. He was 87.

Richard was born on Nov. 23, 1931 in Rolla, the son of the late Richard Groves and Amy Catherine (Wilkinson) Holmes.

On June 28, 1958, he was united in marriage to Anna Marie Nichols who survives.  To this union seven children were born; Catherine Holmes of Farmington; Carl Holmes, who preceded him in death; Willa Frattini and husband, John of St. Louis; Paul Holmes of Overland Park, KS; Richie Holmes of Columbia: Amy Beaton and husband, John of Poplar Bluff; and John Holmes of Berlin, Germany.

Also surviving are six grandchildren and one great-grandson, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and son, Richard was also preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Price Holmes.

Ruby Mildred Harris

Ruby Mildred Harris of Farmington passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018. She was 91.

She was born March 31, 1927 in Mineral Point, the daughter of the late Carl Joseph and Mary Ann (Key) Miller.

Ruby is survived by three sisters, Carol Johnson of Bismarck, Margaret Hart of St. Louis, and Naomi Milne also of St. Louis; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ruby was preceded in death by two sisters, Delores Schaefer and Doris Miller; and her brother, Carl K. Miller.

Ruby worked as a line inspector for St. Louis Die Casting.

Paula Blankenship

Paula Blankenship of Pilot Knob passed away on Monday, Dec. 24, 2018 at Iron County Medical Center.  She was 62,

Paula was born on July 13, 1957 in St. Louis, the daughter of Jesse and Elen (Jackson) Blankenship.

Paula is survived by her mother, Elen Jackson of Arcadia; two sons, Corey Blankenship of Ironton and Dylan Blankenship of Bonne Terre; her “other half,” Raymond Engemann of Pilot Knob; his daughter, Nicki; two brothers, Dan Blankenship and wife, Jane of Farmington, and Bill Wilson and wife, Brenda of Arcadia; three sisters, Jeanne Adams of Arcadia, Patty Anderson of Farmington, and Susan Parks and husband, Rick of Lesterville; her special great-nephew, Nash; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Paula was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Blankenship; and two brothers-in-law, Wilfred “Bill” Adams and Wayne Anderson.

Johnny Lee Reagan

Johnny Lee Reagan of Murray, KY passed away on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was 92.

Visitation was held from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018 at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home in Murray, KY.

Visitation resumed at the First Christian Church in Murray.

The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, 2018 at First Christian Church with Rev. Ruth Ragovin officiating.

Burial followed in the Murray City Cemetery.

William “Bill” Austin Boyd

Bill Boyd

William “Bill” Austin Boyd of Ironton passed away on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018. He was 81.

Bill was born on Oct. 4, 1937 in Potosi, a son of the late William, Sr. and Leona Byrd Boyd.

On Feb. 5, 1977, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Branch Boyd, who survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Jacqulyn Jones of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Nathan (Pamela) Boyd of St. Louis, Ollie (Donna) Boyd of St. Louis, and Danny Boyd of Ironton; one grandchild; and a host of loving family and friends.

Preceding Bill in rest were his parents; one brother, Samuel Aaron Boyd; and one sister, Leanna Mae Bollinger.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 21, 2018 at 1 p.m. from the Cole family chapel. A visitation period was held prior to the service at 11 a.m.

Rev. Ollie Boyd officiated the funeral services. Interment was in Parkview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers Memorials are deeply appreciated and may be made to the Parkview Cemetery.

Ruth Anna Thomson

Ruth Anna Thomson of Ironton passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018 at her residence. She was 88.

Ruth  Anna was born on Oct. 24, 1930 in Iron Mountain to the late Henry and Hope (Ely) William.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold F. “Whitey” Gunning, her sister, Selina Boatright, and her daughter-in-law, Leslie Denise Gunning.

Ruth Anna was self-employed as a hairdresser in the community for many years. She also worked at the Farmington Walmart.

Ruth Anna was a former active member of the Flat River Christian Church. She most recently attended the Community Christian Church in Farmington.

She was a wonderful cook, was a very caring person and loved her family. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Kathy Jean Norris

Kathy Norris

Kathy Jean Norris of Bonne Terre, formerly of the Arcadia Valley, passed away on Dec. 6, 2018 at her home. She was 73.

Kathy was born on April 28, 1945 in Silverdale, a daughter of the late Charles and Lois Brown Ridings.

On July 15, 2006 she was united in marriage to Dennis Norris, who survives.

Other survivors include her daughter, Shawn Barton of Springfield; a step-son, Shannon Norris and wife Melissa of Bonne Terre; one sister, Shirley Neuman of Pilot Knob; a niece, Lucretia Whited and husband Stan of Arcadia; two great-nieces, Brittany Stinson, and Bethany Whited; two grandchildren, Avery and Kinley Norris; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Ridings, and a sister, Daronda Ridings.

She graduated from Arbyrd High School and received her Bachelor of Science in Education at Arkansas State University at Jonesboro.
