Loretta “Irene” Peck

Loretta “Irene” Peck

Loretta “Irene” Peck, formerly of Bismarck, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018.  She was 79.

She was born on April 12, 1939 in Weingarten, the daughter of the late Jack and Dora (Whited) Fox. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Fox, and a sister, Susan Madden.

On March 8, 1962, she was united in marriage to Roy R. Peck, Sr.

Loretta is survived by three children, Roy Peck, Jr. and wife, Sue of Hoffman, IL, Peggy Chunn and husband, Tony of Bismarck, and Jason Peck and Jessica Vermillion of Park Hills; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Irene enjoyed being a housewife and taking care of her family.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 1 p.m. from the Bryson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Harrison officiating.

Visitation is on Tuesday evening from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Interment to be in the Huff Cemetery in Glover.

Roy E. Derecskey

Roy E. Derecskey of Ironton passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at his home. He was 60.

Roy was born on Jan. 31, 1958 in St. Louis, a son of Charles and Laverne (Hassbaum) Derecskey.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a step-brother, Ralph Hassbaum, Sr., a brother, Ronald Derecskey, and a granddaughter, Isabella Derecskey.

Survivors include children, Jennifer L. Derecskey and husband Jeff Schwab of St. Louis, Jaime M. Derecskey of St. Charles, Roy E. T. Derecskey of Eldon, and Stacy F. Derecskey-Rhinesmidt of Eldon; brothers, Richard Derecskey of IL, and Ralph Hassbaum, Jr. and wife Dawn  of Arnold; and seven grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Jaime Derecskey, 4 Fairways Circle, Apt. E, St. Charles, MO 63033.

Stephen Jay Randolph

Stephen Jay Randolph

Stephen Jay Randolph of Belleview passed away at home on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. He was 61.

He was born on Oct. 21, 1956 in St. Louis, a son of Clarence Jr., and Mildred Montgomery Randolph.

On June 10, 1989, he was united in marriage to Lori Southern Randolph, who precedes him death.

Surviving Stephen is one brother, Jimmie and wife Judi Trotter Randolph of Belleview.

Preceding him in death are his parents Clarence, Jr. and Mildred, his wife Lori Randolph, a son Stevie Randolph, and two sisters,  Viola “Vickie” Randolph and Anita Randolph.

Stephen attended church at Banner Full Gospel Church.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Cole Family Funeral Home.

Friends are welcome to attend the visitation beginning at 6 p.m.

Vernie (Sissy) Asher

Vernie (Sissy) Asher

Vernie Asher passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018 in Fredericktown.  She was 88.

She was born April 7, 1930 in Bixby to Henry Preston and Girtie Luvinia (Stricklin) Asher.

Vernie taught 100’s of students starting out in a one room school and ending her 40 plus years teaching at South Iron School District.

Although she had no children of her own, she helped raise her siblings and offered a helping hand to her nieces and nephews.

Sissy, as she was fondly known, enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, quilting and flowers. She was a member of Hickory Grove Assembly of God. Vernie preached for 65 years and was a pastor almost 30 years. She was saved in October, 1948.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sisters, Della Walker and Mabel Asher; and brothers, Herman Asher and Montie Asher.
