Lady Tigers take two

The Arcadia Valley Lady Tigers Varsity Basketball Team beat Twin Rivers 84-64 on January 23 at J. D. Maguffee Gymnasium. 

Jerrika Brockes, the team leader in 3-points with 25, had 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. Makayla Moise had 19 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 assists. Jaesa Brockes had 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 steals. Briar Johnson had 14 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 assists. Josie Landrum had 7 points and 3 assists. Kinsey Phelps had 5 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Katie Whited had 5 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists.

 

The Lady Tigers Varsity beat Bismarck 73-53 on January 26 at Bismarck.

Lady Tigers beat Potosi

The Arcadia Valley Lady Tigers beat Potosi 54-45 on December 26 in the 1st Round of the 61st Annual Bob Sechrest, Jr. Central Christmas Tournament. 

Briar Johnson led the Lady Tigers with 23 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 steals. Jaesa Brockes had 9 points, 13 rebounds, and 2 steals. Josie Landrum had 7 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals. Kinsey Phelps had 4 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. Katie Whited had 4 points and 5 assists. Jerrika Brockes had 2 points and 3 rebounds. Makayla Moise was injured and could not play. The Lady Tigers forced Potosi to make 22 turnovers.

AV Lady Tigers win Fredericktown tournament

The Arcadia Valley Lady Tigers Varsity Basketball Team beat Naylor 72-59 on December 3 to win the Fredericktown Tournament. 

Briar Johnson led the Lady Tigers with 25 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 4 steals. Makayla Moise had 17 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Josie Landrum had 10 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Kinsey Phelps had 8 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Jaesa Brockes had 8 points and 7 rebounds.

Lady Panthers win Valley tourney

anthers beat West County 53-24 on December 3 to win the Valley of Caledonia Tournament at Steve Yount Gymnasium. 

Ashley Mickan Led the Lady Panthers with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Hanna Alexander had 14 points, Jada Brooks had 9 points, and Michaela Ayers and Dara Miller had 6 each. 

In the 1st round on November 28, the Lady Panthers beat Kingston 70-17.

Tigers 8th grade wins tourney

The Arcadia Valley Tigers 8th Grade Basketbsll Team, coached by Dereck Wilson, beat West County 56-18 on December 3 at the Arcadia Valley Middle School Gymnasium.

Carter Brogan led the Tigers with 15 points, followed by Taylon Jones with 9, Trevor Swaringam with 7, Andrew Tedford with 6, Cole Jones with 5, Nathan Pannebecker and Evan Maxwell with 4 each, and Cayden Deason, Landon Garrett, and Nick Reaves with 2 each.

In the 1st round on December 2, the Tigers 8th Grade beat Bismarck 67-28.

The Arcadia Valley Lady Tigers Junior Varsity Basketball Team beat Naylor 40-34 on December 3 to win the Fredericktown Junior Varsity Tournament. 

Lia Hodge led the Lady Tigers with 25 points, 2 rebounds, and 6 steals. Katie Whited had 9 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals. Sam Racer had 3 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. Kirsten Day had 2 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. Chelsie Rice had 3 rebounds and 2 steals.

West County Bulldogs win 90th AV Thanksgiving Tourney

Arcadia Valley Fall Festival Queen Emma Wadlow presents the Thanksgiving Tournament’s 1st Place Trophy to the West County Bulldogs. The West County Bulldogs beat the Ellington Whippets 41-38 on a last-second 3-pointer by Jacob Meinershagan to win the 90th Annual Arcadia Valley Thanksgiving Tournament on November 24th at J. D. Maguffee Gymnasium. 

Jacob Meinershagen led the Bulldogs with 27 points. Jared Jones had 5 points and Reid Pratt had 4. Marshon Morrissey led the Whippets with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Wesley Sharp had 10 points and Devonte Miller had 7.

Deer Season: first weekend harvest exceeds 96,000

Preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) shows that deer hunters in Missouri harvested 96,131 deer during the opening weekend of the November portion of the fall firearms deer season Nov. 12 and 13. Of the 96,131 deer harvested, 55,753 were antlered bucks, 8,873 were button bucks, and 31,505 were does.

Top harvest counties for opening weekend were Franklin with 2,041 deer checked, Howell with 1,950 and Texas with 1,939.

Pryor signs with MAC

Arcadia Valley Tiger Senior Jake Pryor signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball at Mineral Area College. He plans to pursue a career in conservation. In the spring season of his junior year, he played in 21 games and batted .439. He had 29 hits that included 5 doubles, 1 triple, and 3 home runs. He had 10 walks. He had an 8-3 pitching record with a 1.44 ERA in 48.2 innings. He had 62 strikeouts. He was on the MAAA Small-School All-Conference 1st Team and the Class 3, District 3 All-District 1st Team. His parents are Jason Pryor and Mandy Watson. His grandfathers are James Pryor and Rick Turnbough. His coaches at Arcadia Valley are John Inman and Steve Thomas.
